War Child Canada

 

War Child Canada is a registered Canadian charity that provides humanitarian assistance to children affected by war. War Child Canada generates awareness, support and action for children’s rights everywhere.

Andreia Rolo currently works with War Child Canada as the Manager of Youth Engagement and Global Education, developing and supervising national youth programs focused on raising awareness and involving youth in international humanitarian issues.  Andreia has studied International Relations at the Undergraduate level and has completed a degree in Political Science at the Graduate level.  A strong advocate for social change, Andreia has been involved in various international and domestic social justice initiatives and works to promote human rights, justice, and consciousness to youth as a way of life. 

If Andreia is booked, the presentation would be delivered by a volunteer Community Catalyst.

Community Catalysts are post-secondary students and/or recent graduates who work within their communities to raise awareness about global justice issues through outreach and awareness-raising activities.  Community Catalysts present at high schools and community centres to teach youth about global issues such as peace and conflict, poverty, and HIV/AIDS.  

Topics include:

  • humanitarian issues
  • peace and conflict
  • development
  • global justice

Preferred grade levels:

Grade 9-12

Speaker fee:

 

Cost of transportation and any additional donation that can be provided to War Child Canada’s international projects.
