ALS Society of Ontario's WALK for ALS

Position title:

Event Volunteer

Description of community agency/organization: Help in the fight against ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) by volunteering and/or participating in the annual WALK for ALS in June 2010. Stay tuned for further details! You can participate at one of our two locations in the Peel Region. In Brampton, at the Jim Archdekin Recreation Centre and in Mississauga, at J.C. Saddington Park.

What you will do: There are many roles to fill the day of the event and may change throughout the day. Your role may include the following areas: Set-up/Take down Run the refreshment/food stands Registration.

Skills required:

  • good communication skills and a friendly team playing attitude

Skills you will learn:

  • community relations
  • problem solving
  • teamwork

Length of time required: 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (approx).

Location: Brampton or Mississauga
