Position title:

Kids on the Block Puppeteer

Description of community agency/organization:

Epilepsy Mississauga is a non-profit, non-governmental health organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with and affected by epilepsy and seizure disorders.

What you will do:

Perform puppet shows and education presentations to grade 1 to 3 students.

Skills required:

  • interest in working with children
  • comfort performing before large groups
  • ability to memorize lines

    Skills you will learn:
  • stage craft
  • how to work with children
  • first-aid
  • public relations and stage and tour management skills

    Length of time required: Intial training - three hours. Performances on request -
    quite often during the day, so students with spare periods are encouraged to
    apply.
