Kids Helping Kids Volunteer

Description of community agency/organization:

Sunshine Dreams for Kids is a national charity that grants dreams for children with severe physical disabilities and life-threatening illnesses.

What you will do:

As a student you can help us by planning your own events for Sunshine at your school, in your community, or with any extracurricular groups that you are involved with. The events can have a fundraising or awareness focus. Events can be as small as a bake sale or garage sale, or as large as a coffee house or fashion show. We have a free how-to package, “Kids Helping Kids” that can show you how it is done!


Skills required:

Willingness to take initiative, organization, time management, creativity, reliability


Skills you will learn:

  • leadership, organization, event planning

Length of time required:

This will differ depending on your time schedule. This volunteer experience can be as little or as much as you would like it to be.

Location:

The location will differ depending on the event/awareness activity that you organize.
